Working with a local letting agent, we replaced the consumer unit at a property in Chandler’s Ford to provide RCD protection for all circuits.
The new board was fitted with individual RCBOs, giving each circuit its own residual-current and overcurrent protection. We also installed a surge protection device to provide additional protection against transient voltage surges.
Documentation included an Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC), an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) and Building Regulations notification.
The photographs show the original board, the replacement during installation and the finished consumer unit with its cover and circuit labels in place.
